It's a what if so nobody knows. I'm not putting it all on Miller's back but he has admitted publically that he has not been playing well since the injury. Yes, the fwds have not contributed as expected. But if they had we might find ourselves losing to the wings 5-4 instead of 5 -1 or the Pens 8 -6 instead 8 - 3.
If not for this, if not for that, a kingdom would not have been lost. The play of this team has been poor at all positions... fwd, D and goal. I strongly doubt that a single talent would have been enough to overcome all of that and put us in 1st place.
