If Calgary Calgary had budget room and could move any of their defensemen for Jagr with half of his salary paid, Sutter would crap his pants and be all over it, as would every GM in the league. Yeah, there is a fine line in regards to contracts killing the value of a player, but when you are talking about a guy with proven 100 point ability, that line changes dramatically.
Why don't you call Sutter, and tell him the great new's, you traded Phaneuf for Jagr, and your only on the hook for 30M.
