Comrie's answer was so weak that it leads me to believe that there was nothing that the Oilers could have done to get him back. It's frustrating when there are players that will do absolutely anything to just win a roster spot no matter what they go through (Reasonner, Sarno) and others are concern with their "status" on the team.
I was waiting for someone to bring this up. Comrie's reply to that question was all the evidence anyone needed that this really is all about money. Comrie wanted Richards type money and the Oilers said they weren't going to pay him anywhere near that much because they had doubts. Now that he realizes he can’t get what he wants he’s trying to find excuses as to why he can no longer play here. This whole situation shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. The Oilers had problems signing him originally and he’s proving to be a problem again.
