Not at all comparing Hartnell to Shanahan or Bertuzzi at their best, but they took their games to the next level at about the age of 24 and each did so after being traded. I want them to hold on to Scotty because it seems most nights that he's primed for his breakout at 24 (at least statistically...on pace for 27G), and I want to see his next level be in the mustard. I truly think he's going to be fine in the end. He just has the chip in his brain to take liberties that he can't override.

But Poile's doghouse is a tough doghouse to get out of sometimes. We're looking like a team that's going to be 7-10 in the west rather than 1-6. If he's healthy, he has to be on the ice for us to have a chance at 1-6. Last night was i think the third benching or calling out of Hartnell this season, so while it seems inconveivable that they'd deal him, if he continues to make the same mistakes over and over...
