If the Flames were in that desperate need of 1 million then I would think a deal would have been made some time ago to clear up some room. The budget argument holds no weight with me. McLennan at 600K is a bargain, no need to move him.

You still aren't addressing the fact that Hurme is worth no more than a 3rd or 4th round pick. The Flames would never consider moving McAmmond and McLennan to get him. That is just pointless. The only aspect you can point to is the budget, and even then that's only 1 million in savings, not very much when you are talking about this being a move to cut salary.
