When Mitch Lamoureux first came to Hershey way back when, fans were thratening to cancel their season tickets. As a member of the hated Baltimore Skipjacks he was a major thorn in the side to Bears fans. How'd that play out? His jersey # currently hangs in the HPA and Giant Center rafters.

One of the original Adirondack Phantoms is on the move. The Flyers traded defenseman Kevin Marshall to Washington late Thursday afternoon in return for right winger Matt Ford.

Marshall will report to the Hershey Bears. Ford reports to Adirondack and will be in the lineup Friday night as the Phantoms host Norfolk.

Ford, 27, had 10 goals and 28 points in 39 games with Hershey this season. He had a breakout year with Lake Erie last season, scoring 26 goals in 76 games. He's an unrestricted free agent at the end of season.

Marshall has played 185 games with the Adirondack Phantoms, more than anyone else. The 21-year-old was a second round pick of the Flyers in 2007. He played 10 games with Philadelphia.

This is a trade that makes short-term sense for both AHL clubs involved. The Flyers flipped a guy who'd been passed on their depth chart and had fallen out of their NHL plans for a player who can help the Phantoms right away. The Washington organization, meanwhile, lacks depth defensively, but has plenty of scoring forwards in Hershey.
