And you say he will get 40 but at the cost of others stats. You mean Penner or Stoll won't score as much? Do you even watch the Kings? LOL
The other guy said Carter would score 40 goals for the Kings. I was saying he is a 30 goal scorer but for the sake of debate I used the 40 he said.
I also never mentioned Penner or Stoll.
I am not specifically saying Carter hurts the Kings by scoring I am saying his production doesn't add to his line by much because almost all the offense must run through him for him to put up strong numbers.
If you want to make it simple look at the players considered elite NHL snipers. Then look at there shot percentages. With the exception of Ovechkin most of these players post numerous seasons around 14% to 18%. Carter's career high is 13% and usually around 10%. Now what this means is yes Carter will score but it requires him more offensive attacks to reach the same numbers that numerous other NHL players reach in fewer attacks. Or to make it even simpler when Carter scores his line as a whole still does not score as frequently. It simply shifts the goals around on the line.
If Carter was truly an elite 40 goal scorer who didn't hurt his own line why did he lose his job in Philadelphia?
Check Carter's final games as a Flyer. Towards the end of the season Carter's ice time dropped to as low as 15 minutes some games. In the playoffs Carter averaged 15:15 minutes a game. He was a 3rd line player. Why does a team take a player who scored 36 goals that season and 46 a few seasons earlier and cut his ice time in favor of other players? If Carter was as great as people are claiming do that also believe that players like Parise, Kopitar, Stamkos, Gaborik, Toews, D. Sedin, Perry, Kessel, Malkin, etc, etc, would play the 3rd line on a Flyers team?
Or maybe Philly was just crazy? Richards is a better offensive player then Carter and if he can't help them Carter certainly can't.
