Cooper is a little "fluffy." He didn't start out that way, but his stories have trended more toward "here's an interesting anecdote" and less "here's a meaty hockey story that contains information you truly care about."
In a bigger market, there would be a Suter story every day, even if there wasn't any new 'news.' I'm not calling for that, but a few soundbytes from Poile and Suter after the ASG and then, "Well, Suter says he's not signing before the deadline, so I guess i don't need to think about it until then" is kind of unacceptable.
The blogs are typically a better news source than the fishwrappers, though Jim Diamond and even David Boclair do a decent job.
