That incident with practice got overblown by the media. Stirling frequently used that sort of strategy to motivate players. He'd pull guys out of practice, bench them, etc. Its not like Janne N was the only guy to receive that treatment.

I think there is a good chance that he'll be a very effective player for the Stars.
It'll be hard to gauge if any success he has is due to leaving the Islanders or being with more Finns. It seems that players play better when they're paired with players of the same nationality.
