We had some discussion about this in the summer, when it was learned that Bacashihua's AHL salary was that high (I don't really understand why he's paid that much... I'm thinking Homer just wanted to **** around with the journalists and fans a little bit).
I'd have to re-read a certain part of the CBA but there is a clause regarding "goaltender exemption." I am not sure if it is in play here, however goalies do get treated differently at times per the CBA.
