I can't comprehend why some here are convinced Luongo will be traded this season. Luongo is not an unrestricted free agent after this season , thus Florida has zero reason to deal him away especially considering they are still (somewhat) in the playoff race. I think they proved to everyone that they are pretty serious about keeping Luongo here long-term by offering him $30 million they still have a season and a half to try and convince him they are for real. No playoff contender is going to tear their current roster apart for Luongo so the only packages Florida would see now is a bunch of prospects/picks, and that obviously does nothing for a team 3-5 points out of a playoff spot and fighting for their lives.

If Luongo is to be traded, it'll be this offseason after another set failed negotiations....not now.
