And that's really the key, isn't it? A goalie's imperfections can be a lot less aggravating if he wins the game.
I'm still not entirely sold on Conklin, to me he's still reacting to the game at AHL speed and his style is a bit unorthodox (read: scary!)...and let's be honest here, that 2nd Holik goal was way worse than the backhander Salo gave up to Sundin.
However, he does have definite skills.
I like his intensity, he seems to have a very strong glove hand, and there's no denying he is a MUCH better puckhandler than Salo.
Let's see how he does with 2 consecutive starts in Boston. That should be interesting. The team should be starting to get tired now with their 5th game of this road trip, a perfect time for their goalie to stand on his head to steal a win for his team.
It's his chance, he can't say he hasn't been given one.
