This is an article on outta Minnesota. Check out the 2nd to last paragraph.
Ron Perrick, the agent for Cliff Ronning, said Friday that the former Wild center "will be playing within the next two weeks."

Ronning, now 38, is working out with a university team in Vancouver and skating with Canucks' old-timers. He's also coaching his 4-year-old son Ty's hockey team.

"His oldest daughter said to me, 'Dad's gone from playing in the NHL to coaching the termites,' " Perrick said.

An indicator of Ronning's value: Steve Thomas, 40, signed with Detroit this week for $1 million. A rejuvenated Thomas totaled eight points in 21 playoff games with Anaheim last season. Go back the last three seasons, though, and Ronning has piled up 164 points, compared to Thomas' 79.

"There are teams that need him," Perrick said.

Edmonton, a team with a dearth of centers and a short trip from home that would keep Ronning in the Northwest Division, seems like a natural fit.

Ronning's Woodbury home remains for sale. His wife returned to Minnesota this week to do some cleaning.
