Parise has his scars too. He only has one year left and who knows if he'll stick around. Plus he'd cost a fortune in cap hit if he signs and prospects and picks to aquire. On top of that, I just don't see him working under the current regime.

Carter is a better center and is locked up for 10 years. he also has alleged off ice issues and has not put forth much effort on the ice in Columbus and according to Melrose, he hasn't exactly busted ass recovering from injuries. He does play well at a wing if needed though.

Nash is a huge cap hit but is 27 and will work in any system we employ. He will cost a ton in picks and prospects. We will no doubt have to give up our young defense as well as picks and prospects.

Honestly, I would like to get a guy that works for now and the future but I just don't see it working out in the long run.
