I'm on the fence about Wideman. If this team would come around shortly and with Green coming back, they could be very dangerous with Green, Carlson, Wideman, Orlov and Hamrlik in the same lineup. Green coming back in hopefully would put Wideman in a spot where he wouldn't be exposed as much defensively. But on the other hand trading Wideman for another missing piece (top 6 forward / 2C with expiring contract) becomes attractive too.

But in those 7 games to start the season I can't help to think that a lot of that success was not only because Green was in the lineup but because too, Wideman was tearing it up on that third pairing and not being exposed as much defensively.

Alzner - Carlson
Hamr - Green
Orlov - Wideman

Or trade Wideman................

Alzner - Carlson
Hamr - Green
Schultz - Orlov

I honestly like the first option better only because I don't remember seeing Schultz and Orlov together.
