They’re one of the biggest reasons why we are so good in our defensive zone. With that said, though, in a game like tonight, we’ve got to find a way to tie that game up and push it into overtime, and we weren’t able to do that. At the end of the day now, I think we’re tied now in the standings, and it just makes these next 20-24 games a little tougher. It’s going to be a tough run and we have to find ways to win games. (on the physical play…) This time of year, that’s what you expect. You expect that tough, physical game. It’s not going to be a 7-5 game, especially in our conference. It’s going to be a tight game. That’s what we expect to play and that’s what we’ve been playing. We just have to find a way to win games, and we weren’t able to pull it out tonight. That’s what is frustrating, but the good thing about this league is, we’ve got tomorrow. Wake up, have a good practice and go again on Saturday."

We failed to do that today, and it’s disappointing, especially at home. (on whether enough effort was there…) Yeah, the effort was there, but it wasn’t enough. We’ve got to find a way to score goals to win games. (on another low-scoring loss…) It’s nothing new. We’ve struggled pretty much the whole year. Again, we’ve got to find a way to score goals. (on not following up on the four-goal effort against Dallas…) It doesn’t really matter what happened in Dallas. It wouldn’t have mattered if we had scored six. It wouldn’t really matter. Every game is a new game, that starts with zeroes on the scoreboard. It doesn’t really matter what you did or didn’t do before."

You’re probably just counting the fights. The fights started because Brownie hit Klesla, and their captain responded to our captain. Other than that, I didn’t think it was any more physical than any other game. (on the game…) We had a lot of good opportunities in the first period, with guys who should have them, and they’ve got to put them away. If you want to say anything about a playoff atmosphere, that’s what a playoff atmosphere is about. You’ve got your best players, your goal scorers, scoring goals at the critical times. It’s simple. (on the second and third periods…) Halfway through the game, the shots were 16-8, I think. I was disappointed we didn’t get another power play in the second. We had two that were called. One of them has to be called, shooting it into the stands, and then obviously Mike (Richards) got one for yapping at one of the officials. I wasn’t really sure which one. But you’d think there would have been one (penalty) the other way, when we were spending a lot of time in their zone. (on the number of missed shots…) If you (have) a wide-open chance and miss the net, that’s your problem. There’s not much you or I or anybody else can do about it. But I think the defensemen’s shots that missed the net, there was a lot of traffic. There was a lot of traffic there tonight. (on trying to rally against Phoenix…) I’ve said it 100 times. This league is about having the lead and scoring the first goal. It’s a big difference in the game. They’re no different than anyone else when they have the lead."

When we preach work and those things, and everybody does it, then he better do it."

We played an awesome game against Phoenix the other night, and we lost. It was the first time we lost to them in regulation this year. I don’t think you’re going to sweep anybody, quite honestly. At the end of the day, it’s going to come down to your head-to-head against those teams. That’s how close the teams are. There’s no difference in wins, losses. There’s just not enough of a gap in those teams."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER
