The longer he waits the less the return will be? History usually indicates otherwise, as the price of players goes up towards the deadline. Especially when demand exceeds supply.
It's also a seller's market and Wideman fits plenty of teams' needs (some of which are "silly minded"). Chicago, New York, New Jersey, and Calgary are all looking to make the playoffs and have powerplay operating at under 17% and room to upgrade their blue lines.
