Sorry excuse for an NHL team
the GDT thread has some people hating on Price...
Stop blaming Price.
Aside from him and the Patches, Cole, DD line this year, and a couple of guys here and there, the rest of the team is playing like ****. All I've seen all game long is our forwards skating in wide and shooting pucks on net that even I could stop. Probably the easiest game this Dallas goalie has had all year long.
Would Price like to have that last goal back, absolutely, but when your D are giving the forwards all that time and space, guys are gonna pick corners. The Habs D doesn't pressure the forwards at all, they stay more than a stick length away just waving their sticks back and forth and backing up.
Price has kept this team in games all year long and the team has let him down with sloppy defensive zone coverage (blown leads) or hasn't been able to score more than one goal. When a team plays in front of you the way the Habs are playing this year, as a goalie you don't trust your team the way you should and you start playing differently and second guessing your positioning and how you read the play.
As a long time Habs fan though, this is the sorriest excuse for a hockey team I've seen ever. There is no passion or heart in this year's edition of the Habs and they've seem to accepted losing as something that's OK. People wanted Spacek and Hammer gone, two very experienced D men who the Habs could really use this year. You got what you wanted.
Can you really expect a team with 2 rookie D (Emelin, Diaz), a 2nd yr D playing the most minutes (Subban), 1 vet D (Gorges) and a D who plays that position part-time to really compete in this league (Weber)? Gill was only good on PK. Campoli is as soft as a marshmallow and should be limited to 6th or 7th D. Kaberle has good vision and does well on the PP distributing the puck, but he's not an impact player at all.
Very frustrating to be a Habs fan these days.
