Somehow, the Rangers seem to think that having a guy like Gaborik or Richards holding the puck will unsettle the opposition.
What unsettles the opposition is rotating positions, maybe keeping one good defensive presence (fast skater) on the blueline constantly. Get somebody crossing laterally through the slot. If you can get a puck on his stick or for a tip, great. If not, you have still screwed up their well-laid plans.
I don't understand why the Rangers PP does not play a little more pond hockey on the PP. Don't tell me they would be worse, as long as they keep a smart defensive guy back. Surely they are capable of some creativity.
