DL was going to do something so I'm glad it's not a huge overpayment for Nash.

If it is Johnson and a 1st, then it's not too bad considering it is the trade deadline and LA is desperate. While Voynov isn't as strong as Johnson, he does look for the hit along the boards and has surprised a few wingers with his physicality. Now the revolving #6 defensemen will probably have some Hickey in the mix. If Hickey is not traded and DL is still here next season, there is no way he doesn't get a look.

If Parise can be had in the off-season (hopes are not up), then I think everyone will love this trade. As of right now, it's sad to see a guy leave who signed a nice contract to stay here for a long time. It's even worse to know that, in the end, it's not even his play that is getting him shipped out but rather the complete ineptitude of this team's forward corps. That should be the message that DL sends this team: Jack had to go because you fools are not cutting it.

Also, Bernier has zero value. CBJ needs goaltending in a bad way and they would rather have a 1st round pick. He's nothing but potential that has not been close to realized. He's a 1st round pick from 2006 that has played like 30 games in the NHL.
