In Sweden or in the AHL, you'd still have the ELC slide as long as the player is under the age of 20. See Robert Mayer and Alex Avtsin who had their ELCs slide for us.

The only way a year is taken off the ELC is if the player is over the age of 20, or if he plays 10 NHL games.
