The new contract is an over-35 contract. The Kings are on the hook for the cap hit in the second year come hell or high water.

Fehr is not allowing contract renegotiation. If the league brings it up, you would be looking at another lockout. Increased mobility for players and uncertainty of compensation are about as acceptable to the PA as a pit of vipers.
