Just because I love to make lists and I am sure you all love to read is another.

Andy Murray has been the coach of the LA Kings since 1999 and the team has never finished better than 11th in the league since he took the job. Here is a list of teams that have been in the top 10 since 1999.

Detroit Redwings
New Jersey Devils
Colorado Avalanche
St. Louis Blues
Vancouver Canucks
Ottawa Senators
Toronto Maple Leafs
Boston Bruins
Dallas Stars
Florida Panthers
Washington Capitals
Pittsburgh Penguins
New York Islanders
San Jose Sharks
Tampa Bay Lightning
Philadelphia Flyers
Chicago Blackhawks
Minnesota Wild

(btw most of these teams did not have Lidstrom, Yzerman, et al.... in their lineups)

That leaves 11 teams (besides the Kings) not to be in the top 10 in the last 5 seasons.

Of those 11 three have made it to the Stanley Cup finals (Anaheim, Calgary, Carolina).

That leaves these teams that have the same tendency to finish low in the standings and have no playoff success in the last 5 seasons.

New York Rangers
Nashville Predators
Columbus Blue Jackets
Montreal Canadiens
Buffalo Sabres
Phoenix Coyotes
Atlanta Thrashers
Edmonton Oilers

Teams in bold are expansion teams. If you keep them out of the equation then the Kings are among 6 teams who have had little or no success in the past 5 seasons. Yet Murray is doing a great job.
