Can the Canadiens win the Stanley Cup this season? No, so what's the point of 0-0 hockey, the trap, eeeking into the playoffs as a No. 8 seed? What's the point? Why is it difficult to understand that the Quebec/Ottawa/Tampa Bay/Atlanta model (stinking up the joint for one year, at least) is the most fool-proof method to long-term improvement.

If you're not very very good, it's better to be very very bad than very very mediocre.

And the Canadiens have been very very mediocre for most of the last 20 years.
