he's in the Kadri/Colborne/Frattin tier of "any of us could be called #1 within the next year if we look good." (Gardiner's not a prospect, is #1 if considered to be.) the tier is those four, with a slight drop to the Blacker/Holzer/Biggs level ("could be just as good as the tier one guys, but have little chance of getting that #1 Leaf Prospect spot unless said tier graduates or gets traded away")

as of now i have him fourth in it, but i also think he does very well in the 'safe bet' category - little chance he won't be able to give second-line production in 2013-14 if given second line minutes. (as opposed to someone like Kadri with a big range.)
