Well I agree that right now he should have taken a role of a finishing center more often. But long term he shouldn't become a pure shooting center, he can do more.

As I wrote today somewhere, the problem is if your passes are one way only, as with Kopitar-Brown. With Brown on his wing, Kopitar is not able to increase his shot total. Brown is most effective when he DOESN'T try tricks or pass around the offensive zone, because his combination of game vision and passing isn't even close to Kopitar's. It could probably work if Brown takes his role VERY seriously and parks himself in front of the net all the time. This way he can get plenty of rebound/redirect goals. But if Brown and Kopitar are both skating 20m away from the goalie crease, they are extremely ineffective as a line.
