General Talk '12 — U.S.A.

well it is getting near the time where we USA Hockey fans start to get ready for the awesome tournament that every American NHLer dreams about playing...the World Championships.

and though I hope you can sense my sarcasm, it really is time for us to discuss a ton of names that will likely turn down invites to play in this tournament!

Am I the only one that said thank you when Jack Johnson got traded to the Blue Jackets? At least we know he will play as usual!!!

I will say this seriously though, I think a lot of young Americans making an impact in the league this year could really benefit us. we seem to have to rely on either youngsters or guys that are on the bubble of NHL/AHL looking for a chance to shine.

What we could possibly have on our defense could be pretty cool :

Cam Fowler
Jake Gardiner
Jeff Petry
Jamie McBain
Justin Faulk
John Moore

is right off the top of my head as young solid dmen that would love the experience this tournament could offer. I would take all of them for this team as they lack size and grit, they make up for it in skill, mobility, youth, and puck moving skills. Plus the bigger ice surface makes these kids more desirable then ever.

Add Jack Mother ****ing Johnson and James Wisniewski and you bring more offense and some grit. this team usually needs all the offense it can get from the point as we lack forwards of skill most every year....

goalies - well, Al Montoya looks to be a lock, and maybe a guy like Ty Conklin who wants to stick in the league if Detroit doesnt need him playoff time. If Ottawa doesnt make it, that could also lead to Anderson and Bishop, though Bishop would be the likely guy to accept.

forwards - way too early to tell, but thats the point of the thread...lets get some names going for those who care...
