Perhaps this is what Lombardi infers to when he talks about Kopitar and others on the team having to get in better shape. That's the only rational argument I could think of that explains why Kopitar's production starts to take a dip by December. It's been a consistent pattern for Kopitar.
He also shows up to EVERY optional practice/skate through out the season.
