I like to use the Jack Edwards Fight Description Equation (EFDE) to figure out who wins.

Take the number of punches Edwards says the Bruin player lands and divide by 8 and give the Bruin that many points.

Then add a point to the opponent every time he throws a punch and Edwards says nothing.

He said Thornton landed 40 shots, so he gets a 5.

Edwards ignored 5 punches by Boulton, so he gets a 5.

The EFDE says - Draw.
