You mean, they should turn it over more. Because that's what they would be doing if they try to carry the puck in when the other team is standing up at the blue line.
The better we do in the neutral zone, the quicker we can go from defense to offense and the less chance the other team has to get set. That will result in more opportunities on the rush.
That's why speed is so important. It makes defenders back into the zone instead of standing up at the line. But we don't have that many fast guys, and all the speed in the world won't matter if you have to go 200 feet every time.
