Well in all fairness he can still trade him for futures in the offseason.

Didn't hurt to keep him around.

Now Wideman is a whole other story but I can see why they wanted to keep him if they intended to make a push. I'm sure Wideman could have brought in a 1st rounder so that would be the one for me seen as the biggest gamble.
