Graves hurt his back in game 4 against Jersey. Was never the same player. The light never went on for Koavlev in NY. Larmer retired after the lockout year. Matteau was a side of beef.

Richter was 28. Leetch and Graves were 26. Zubov was 24. Kovelev was 21. Injuries and bad play made the Rangers a one trick pony.

Smith had to swap a #1 pick for Verbeek just to make the playoffs in 95.
I really didn't mind that trade. Verbeek played well for this team. We should haev given him the same money he got from Dallas. I believe the deal was 10 million over 3 years. Maybe 9 million.
