Malkin? Now the expectation is for Richards to be Malkin?

Pat Kane has 16 goals and is an alternate captain on a team that isn't meeting expectations. Rich Nash has a whopping 1 more point than Richards, is the captain of a sinking ship, is all be being escorted out of town and has the 5th highest cap hit in the league.

Take a look at Ovechkin's game log and get back to me with regard to expectations and salaries. EVERY player had bad stretches, maybe even bad seasons. If this is a "bad season" for Brad Richards, well, the context of these three examples, I'll take it.
