Have significantly changed my tape job since originally posting in this thread. I now use a tacki-mac on the butt end, with the knob sliced down to about 1/4". On the blade I still go heel to toe, taped over the toe and waxed, but I now do the half-rip method (tear the tape in the middle, so it's only half its normal width, gets you a lot more ridges, I can feel where the puck is on my blade a bit better this way, and get a bit more spin). Looks kind of like Phaneuf's blade:

Except I start a lot closer to the heel, tape over the toe, and don't rip my tape quite as thin as he does (that looks like more like a 1/3 thickness, I use 1/2 thickness).
