Flat feet and purchasing new skates

Your friends suggestions are the right way to go. Graf is the best skate for people with special feet. And you say that you barely have arches, Graf have skates with high normal and low arches. The Graf custom SIDA footbeds could help too I guess. A lot of NHL'ers use them even though they don't use Graf skates, so they must be doing something right. I've used Grafs for two years now, with a short break for a pair of Vapors, due to the teams sponsorship. They killed my heels so I had to change back to my Grafs. I will never use another brand again. I'm actually having the G75's shipped to me right now. Really excited about it.
The only way to find out if you're satisfied with skates is to try them on, so I suggest you try as many Grafs on as possible.
People also say that Easton and the Bauer flexlite are good skates for your foot type. I wouldn't go with Eastons though. Worst skate ive had.
