Take the trapezoid out to stop weak dumps and players going hard into the endboards. Make icing automatic to cut down injury and speed up time between whistles.

Two very easy safety fixes they could implement right now that would make a tangible difference without changing the game.

For next year, better helmets, smaller elbow and shoulder pads. Take a look at perhaps lengthening the size of the neutral zone to allow less clogging in there. Take a look at ice size changes. Vote on those ice changes next season when you can actually have a long debate about the pros and cons.

If they implement the red line back in on whim, it will be an epic failure. There is no data that suggests it will be any safer or lead to more offense (that's a joke). Most rules take 3-4 years of studying data for it even to get proposed. This will be knee-jerk reaction at its finest if it happens.

I don't get it.
