It's really pretty simple. The guy feels like crap every day, and has had to cancel two appearances.
It doesn't have to be one finishing blow, if you keep getting hit while you have concussions, it either makes the first one worse, or gives you another one on top of the one you had.
It took them a few weeks of him not playing before they figured out what happened.
This. People have to understand that if you have a concussion, you're brain's resetting. If you don't let it heal properly, then sustain another one on top of that, it can be devastating. That's the kind of injury we're talking about
: debilitating concussion-like symptoms that weren't cared for properly, partially because people didn't realize what was going on.
Why anyone in the Penguins organization let Crosby play after the Winter Classic is still a complete mystery to me. As soon as many of us saw that hit, it was obvious it was a concussion.
