I don't know how much they need to learn both styles, though, if they're physically mature enough to handle NA hockey. Waiting that long puts them behind the 8-ball in the NHL, so if the NHL career is what they're after (and it's totally valid for it not to be, don't get me wrong) coming over as soon as they can play here should give them a leg up.
