Claude Giroux Charity T-Shirts Released: Sacrifice & Hustle

Hey Flyers fans,

I hope you’re all enjoying the Bryzgalov’s big turnaround and gearing up for a long playoff run!

I run an athletics clothing brand (Unsung Hero Apparel: and we had the honour of teaming up with Claude Giroux to produce a set of limited edition t-shirts benefiting Claude’s foundation and their quest to build a state of the art rehabilitation and physiotherapy center in Hearst, Ontario (Claude’s hometown). 100% of the proceeds from sales will go towards the foundation.

The support of Claude Giroux and his fans will help the small community of Hearst, in Northern Ontario, benefit from a state-of-the-art physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre. The closest physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre is located more than 300 kilometers from Hearst. Given the realities of Northern Ontario and road conditions during winter, it is essential that these types of services be made available to patients in their own community. The Notre-Dame Hospital Foundation is hopeful that through its partnership with Claude Giroux, the new Centre Claude-Giroux Centre will become a reality in the near future.

When throwing around ideas for the shirts, we asked Claude which words or phrases would best sum up his hockey career up to this point, and the answer came pretty quick: Sacrifice & Hustle.

On his path to NHL stardom, Claude overcame enormous obstacles. Coming from a small Northern Ontario town where he was often told he was too small to have any kind of professional future, he was overlooked in the OHL priority draft. He managed to get a tryout with the QMJHL’s Gatineau Olympiques, and through hard work and a non-stop motor, quickly became one of the best junior players in Canada. From there, as we can see now, the sky was the limit.

The t-shirts not only celebrate the hard work and dedication that Claude exemplifies, but they serve as a reminder to all hockey players that without hustle and sacrifice, you won’t get anywhere. You can have all the talent in the world, but it’s those two things that will set you apart.

The t-shirts can be purchased at

Thanks, and best of luck in the postseason!
