Witt is a solid top 4 defensman, who can add some toughness to a teams blueline. But he isn't worth what everyone seems to be mentioning.
How much of an impact will he have on either Suter or Weber in 20 or so games? And knowing Trotz, he'll never be paired with either and instead will go right to the second pairing with Hammer or, if he's smart, Timonen. Still, you never know with Trotz pairs. Sometimes, he likes to mix it up and put defensive (Eaton) with offensive (Timonen), but lately he likes to match offensive with offensive (Timonen and Zidlicky) and defensive with defensive (Eaton and Markov) and youth with youth (Hamhuis and Suter). I'm not a big fan of the latter as it exposes way too many weakness in our D-core, but Trotz seems rather content with it.
