He is a candidate to play on the bottom 6 next year, or the year after with the Sens, where as Puempel, who is probably underappreciated as a two-way player, is still more of a pure skill guy and will likely be better off getting more icetime on a scoring line with an elite playmaker of sorts, rather than sitting in our bottom 6 and playing 8-10 minutes a night of crash and bang. I think Noesen is more likely to hit the NHL sooner, although Puempel might crack our top 6 sooner. Just a guess, as development of these teenagers isn't really linear.
Pierre Dorion has said before that Noesen will play in the NHL when he wants. If he can add some muscle and become a little quicker he could play now with his skillset. When someone says that about you, it means he is one very strong, or two strong summer's away from being an NHLer IMO. Noesen seems like the kinda guy who could play in the A next year if he gets quicker and then adds muscle later.
Honestly they guy we should use as a measuring stick is Stone. Here is a guy who has basically gauranteed himself as a AHLer and will get a shot in the show. Not bad for a 6th rounder
