Its not that rolling 4 lines is a bad strategy or doesn't work. I just prefer what you outlined.
the caps have a shootout specialist. #26. hunter often skates 3 lines and leaves his 4th as healthy scratches in pads with better seats. he often only skates 5 defense with the 6th sharing popcorn with the backup goalie.

i know you want a heavy something fierce.

even with that it was 20 and 21 that were getting the minutes bump and not 8.
