I think that Kovalev is really trying to be too fancy. That shot last night in OT that didn't even scare the crossbar was a disgrace. Stop being so damned fine and shoot through the goalie don't pick these tough corners. It's Steve Leighton not Patrick Roy.
That actually makes me think of a more radical line: Lundmark - Moore - Kovalev.

I wonder if watching over the kids would force Kovalev to change his game a bit. Their enthusiasm might help to spark him as well. Finally, Moore is willing to hit any corner to get a puck for his linemates, which is more than can be said for Hlavac/Nedved.

A more north-south style might prove helpful to Kovalev.
