I dont know what the terms were back then, but college and US Olympic players routinely joined their NHL teams after the NCAA/Olympic season was done.
Nowadays, not so much. Besides, I dont see the Rangers being as desperate as the 1991 team. I think it's 75/25 that Kreider plays in the NHL this season
Amonte, "White" and Rice were the only things positive about that miserable postseason. They were signed and available for Game 1 of the Caps series but Nielsen didnt dress them. It wasnt until a crucial Game 5 when Nielsen dressed Amonte and Rice in a OT loss (thanks Hardy)....Weight was dressed for the elimination Game 6
