Yeah, I had WHT too as well. Worst theme song ever for their sports teams - "We got the Mets & the Nets & the Island-Darz !"
I became a fan in 79, through the exhuberance of my parents who had been longtime fans. My Dad as a kid would hangout outside the Garden and players would hand them free tix(obstructed of course). Dad's fave growing up was Jim Nielson, then Bathgate, Park & Ratelle. He was also a big fan of Hull & Mikita on the Hawks.
I became diehard hockey fan after the 80 olympics like most kids of my generation. After that it was Islander hell & Duguay, Greshner, Larouche & Ridley were my faves. When I was 9 I went up to Cheryl Tiegs, Duguays gal at the time, and she signed my hat and kissed my cheek
1994 was surreal, summer was like the 'summer of love' for Ranger fans, wore my road Ranger Jersey almost nonstop and everywhere I went in the City was greeted by nothing but high fives & "Go Rangers!".
