How much time passed since his last stint? Less than half the time that will pass before next season. He has plenty of time to bulk up physically to avoid being overwhelmed, and he can spend the next half a year working on his defense. Getting stronger physically will help his defense, as well.

Erixon is younger and there's no reason he won't improve in the next 6.5 months leading up to the 2012-13 season. He has parts of the regular season, playoffs (NHL or AHL), offseason and preseason to figure out some things. There's no reason to believe he can't improve by then. He's only 21 years old. He will get better, and probably faster than most people believe.
