CIS hockey players can and do receive Athletic Financial Awards (AFA), which in essence are hockey scholarships. If they already have money for tuition from a Major Junior education package, the student-athlete can spend the AFA money on whatever they want. Its all within the rules and most teams outside of the tightwad OUA do it.

I admire you're 'protection' of UNB. Sit down with guys who have been through the system. Notable players. Obviously in some circumstances they are tight lipped, however, sometimes they do leak the true reasons why they are somewhere.
