Exactly, Zucker put up big points as an 18 year old while Wellman didn't hit college until a couple years later.
And Zucker now gets a look (not saying he earned a spot) at 20 compared to Wellman at 22.5.
I'm guessing the odds are if you make the NHL at a younger age, you are likely going to have a higher ceiling and last longer than someone who makes it at a later age. How much of that is causation and correlation I don't know, but you usually don't get 4th line grinders making the NHL at 18 and top line scorers debuting at 23 or later.
