The name that stuck out to me on that list was Wade Murphy from Penticton. However, the team is what actually stuck out to me. Dallas has drafted several players out of Canadian juniors/midgets recently. Also, Murphy started the season with Jamie Benn's old team Victoria.

I thought I'd dig up a little on him just for fun.

He's committed to join Merimack (NCAA) in 2013. Wade scored 91 points (36G-55A) in 60 regular season games, and he's tied for first in playoff scoring with 13 points (6G-7A) in 10 games.

For comparison:
Jamie Benn - Victoria (Draft year)
Regular Season: 53GP 42G-23A-65PTS
Playoffs: 11GP 5G-4A-9PTS

Curtis McKenzie - Penticton (Draft year)
Regular Season: 53GP 30G-34A-64PTS
Playoffs: 10GP 3G-7A-10PTS

Austin Smith - Penticton (Year following draft)
Regular Season: 60GP 32G-35A-67PTS
Playoffs: 15GP 11G-11A-22PTS

Comments from Fred Harbinson (Penticton head coach) about why they traded for him:
“Wade no question is a dynamic offensive talent and the points he put up in Victoria reflect that.” said Vees head coach Fred Harbinson. “In saying that, we feel his compete level, work ethic and determination on and off the ice is what we value and feel will be a perfect fit in Penticton.”
