Sometimes, with Darryl, when I play 19 or 20 I’m probably more tired than I was with Terry. And I’m not saying any bad things about Terry. But we are more aggressive. We’re pursuing the puck a lot more. It’s a more high-intensity game. Not that Terry didn’t stress it, but it’s just at a different level.’’ (Question: Does that manifest itself more at the start of a game? The idea of taking the game to the other team right away, instead of sitting back?) … “That’s what you always want to do. You want to jump on teams and put them on their heels for a little bit. In the last couple games, we’ve done that. Last night, we just didn’t start very good, but we bounced right back, which is a good thing. We controlled the game, even in the second and third periods, there wasn’t really anything going on except for that goal, but that could have gone the other way because it was a little bit of a broken play, too. Are we happy about the one point? Of course not, because we wanted to get the two points, but sometimes that is going to happen."

It’s been a tough schedule. We had opportunities there. I think Backstrom probably made the save of the game there in overtime on Richie [Mike Richards]. That could have been the game if he doesn’t make that save.’’ (on rebounding from the first period…) “I thought we played a really good second. Our second was probably our best period. In the first, we were just making a lot of turnovers and they capitalized. Their second goal was a result of our turnover. We settled down in the second and they found a way to even it up in the third."

But to take a step back and look at the trip as a whole, I think five out of eight points is about what we needed. Four would have been acceptable, but five or six makes it good. It could have been great. We gave up a point in the shootout there, after giving up the lead, but like I said, all things considered it’s not a bad trip for us.’’ (on rebounding from the first period…) “No excuses, but to me it’s more mental. When you make a trip like that, blah blah blah, whatever you want to say, it’s not so much about the physical element of playing hockey. It’s more about the mental side of things. Mentally, you’re a little slow. You’re not as sharp. Once we got through the first period, we got some of the crap out of our system and out of our heads and I thought, the rest of the game, we played fine.’’ (on facing a team that has nothing to lose…) “I don’t really look at the other team. For us, where we are right now in the standings, we need the points bad. It doesn’t matter whether we’re playing a team that’s in it or out of it. But to their credit, I thought they played very well. They didn’t give up too much. I thought they played real tight defensively. They had a couple good speed rushes, a couple good opportunities, and they really made us work for what we got tonight."

We played pretty good.’’ (on whether this was a “good’’ trip, and almost a “great’’ trip…) “Yeah, I think so. Heck, that’s what I told them. We got three out of four (points) in a day. And five out of six in less than four days. I think if you’d have said that, at any other time than right now, you’d say it was great.’’ (on adjusting after the first period…) “We just had to tighten up some of our things in the neutral zone, for what they try to do to us in the neutral, and allow us to use our strengths. It was nothing to do with work, or anything like that. It was just tightening it up a little bit when we had the puck.’’ (on being able to control their fate with three games left…) “Big point. I’m not a philosopher or Nostradamus or nothing. I can’t do any of that stuff. We got our 91st point tonight, and hopefully it’s a big one.’’ (on whether he felt a point got away tonight…) “Not really. I don’t think we let anything slip away. I don’t know what there would be for me to complain about, to be quite honest."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER
